Small Business CloudWhat services do you offer?

We provide consulting in small and medium sized software solutions and processes for business productivity. We work a lot with Xero and the Xero add-ons, but we can also conduct needs assessments to identify the right product for you.

Although we are part of some partner programs we do not receive any fees or commissions for recommending particular products. We pride ourselves on being independent and unbiased.

What products do you work with?

We currently provide specialist advice and training in the following products:

  • Xero – cloud-based accounting package
  • MYOB – cloud/desktop based accounting package
  • GeoOp – cloud based job allocation and field tracking package
  • WorkflowMax – a job management add-on for Xero
  • Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel
  • AffinityLive – cloud-based CRM, project management and email integration
  • ServiceM8 (“Service Mate”) – cloud-based job management and invoicing for tradies

We review other products from time to time so if there is a specific product that we don’t have listed we can test it based on your requirements and provide advice on suitability.

How much does it cost / What are your rates?

Every engagement is different, so we can only give you an estimate before we have assessed your needs and documentation. [Refer to the WFM task rates for current rates]. We have a 2 hour minimum for onsite visits and offsite training and support is rounded to the closest 15 minutes.

Do you charge travel time?

No, we do not charge travel time. We do ask for a minimum 2 hour booking for onsite visits. We generally find that clients need us for 2-3 hours anyway so we have never had an issue. If you just have a quick question or need some specific info drop us an email or call us and we can either put together a screen shot document or arrange a screen-sharing meeting to walk you through things.

How many consultants do you have?

Currently we have 6 consultants who each specialise in specific areas, including Bookkeeping and Accounts, Project Management, Process Improvement and HR.

How quickly will the consultant get back to me?

It depends on the day, we do have some very busy periods where consultants are fully booked. If your question is critically urgent, however, please let our receptionist know or send us an email with “URGENT” in the subject line and we will respond within the hour.

How long will it take to do a system setup?

It is very difficult to give a general answer to this question. It very much depends on your current systems and processes, what you are hoping to get out of the new system and how quickly you pick up the new system. A super express setup can be done with 1-2 site visits. Typically we find that clients get the best results with 2-3 site visits for configuration discussions and training and 1-2 days off offsite setup work. We are happy to do as much or as little of the work as you want and we don’t hold you to any kind of fixed price model. We will also let you know as soon as possible if we come across anything that might cause complications and will provide advice on what we think the best solution is.

Do you charge for the initial consultation?

Yes we do. Our consultants are here to provide training and advice. We don’t get any commissions or fees from the product companies for providing demonstrations. If you are not sure, we are happy to provide a reference from other clients we have had in your industry.
